Latin America encompasses countries in North, Central, and South America. The “Great Consolidation” was the largest trade network in the world lasting from 1830 to 1920. Silver mining exports would make up more than ⅔ of the Latin American economy. Sugar and cacao were two of the major crops exported. New demands for Latin American products came around the 1850’s. Although there was almost no industry in Latin America, they became a huge factor in the industrial revolution because of their resources.
